Joan Lyngen, along with some of her friends, founded the Lady Duffers Golf League in 1974. Forty women signed up to play in the 1975 season and membership continued to grow as more women discovered that golf without pressure was fun.
We pledge to maintain the integrity and values of the original founders of the organization and to provide an atmosphere of fun and good golf for all its members. We take pride in being a pioneer for women’s golf in the Village.
Today, we have over 100 members and we play nine holes of golf every Wednesday morning, April through October, at Coronado Golf Course. We also play occasional nine-hole scrambles at some of the other duffer-friendly golf courses in Hot Springs Village.
Each week we award first, second and third place monetary prizes in each of four flights. At our Fall Luncheon, we present the monetary prizes along with trophies for Lady Duffer of the Year and Most Improved Golfer.
We welcome golfers of all abilities and no GHIN number is required!
